Licence Agreement
Version 2026-10-19 · Last updated 19 October 2026
This is the agreement for using the SpeechNet app (the "software"). Plain English, but it's still a real agreement. You accept it by installing or using SpeechNet, and again when you create an account.
1. Who it's between
You, and SpeechNet (New Zealand) ("we"). If you're using SpeechNet for an organisation, you're agreeing for it too. You must be at least 13. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to this for you before you create an account or buy credits.
2. What you're allowed to do
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use SpeechNet on computers you own or control, for personal or work use. The free features have no time or word limit. Pro features (like Smart Polish) need a SpeechNet account with credits.
3. What you're not allowed to do
- Sell, rent, share, or redistribute the software, or your account, sign-in or credits.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the software, except where the law says you can.
- Get around credits, limits or security, or use SpeechNet's server in ways it wasn't built for (for example automated bulk requests, or using it as a general AI service).
- Use SpeechNet to break the law, or to record or transcribe other people without the consent the law requires where you are. That's your responsibility.
4. Your words are yours
Everything you dictate belongs to you. We claim no rights to it. With Smart Polish on, the text is sent to our server and our AI provider only to clean it up and send it back, and it isn't stored or used to train anything (see the Privacy Policy).
5. AI and speech recognition make mistakes
Check what SpeechNet types before you send or rely on it, especially for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical things. Don't use SpeechNet where a mistake could hurt someone.
6. Plans, credits and auto-renewal
- Monthly plans renew automatically each month, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. You can cancel any time in SpeechNet → Settings → Account and Pro → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for.
- Each month, your plan gives a set number of plan credits. Smart Polish uses some each time it cleans up a dictation, based on what that request cost to run. Plan credits reset at each renewal and don't carry over. The app always shows your balance and the reset date.
- Changing plan: upgrades start straight away. You pay the difference for the rest of the month and get the extra credits. Downgrades start at your next renewal.
- Bulk credits (for businesses) are a one-off purchase, cheaper per credit, and never expire while your account exists. Plan credits are always used before bulk or gifted credits.
- Credits aren't money. They have no cash value, can't be transferred, and only work for SpeechNet features. If you delete your account, any credits left are gone.
- We may change prices or how many credits a plan includes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a change affects your plan, so you can cancel first. Credits you've already received are never taken away, except for a refunded payment.
7. Your account
You sign in with a code sent to your email, so keep your email account secure. You can sign out on every device, download your data, or delete your account at any time in SpeechNet → Settings → Account. We may suspend an account that breaks section 3, and we'll tell you why unless the law stops us.
8. Updates
SpeechNet checks our website for new versions and tells you when one is out. Installing it is up to you. Some features depend on Apple's software or our providers and may change or stop if they change.
9. Ending this agreement
You can stop any time by deleting the app (and your account, if you have one). If you seriously break this agreement, we can end your licence and close your account.
10. No promises beyond the law
Apart from guarantees the law says we can't exclude, SpeechNet is provided "as is". Your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and consumer laws where you live, still apply where they can't be excluded. If you're using SpeechNet for business, you agree the Consumer Guarantees Act doesn't apply.
11. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or profits, or anything caused by text SpeechNet typed or failed to type. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (NZ$10 if you've only used the free version).
12. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by New Zealand law. If something goes wrong, email Tyrianhelp@gmail.com first and we'll try to sort it out within 30 days. After that, disputes go to the New Zealand courts or Disputes Tribunal, without taking away any right you have to use the courts where you live.
13. Changes to this agreement
If we change it, the version at the top changes, and the app asks you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Changes never take away credits you've already paid for.
The website terms, Privacy Policy and refund policy are part of this agreement.
